Ops Manager

Applications are invited for the above mentioned position in Trade Xpress, based in Vryheid. This person will report to the Regional Distribution Manager: Coastal Region.

Purpose Statement of the Position
The effective and economical management of the distribution operations at the Distribution Centre. The completion of all reasonable tasks to ensure the operational efficiency of Distell Ltd. As the appointed 16.2 – responsible for ensuring the OHS act is complied with and the site meets all legal requirements.

Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:
Operating Efficiently

    • Maintain a high level of customer service
    • Ensure cost effective warehousing and distribution of company products
    • Ensure strict adherence to Corporate Governance
    • Perform administration/reporting effectively

    • Ensure cost effective warehousing and distribution of company products

The Successful Candidate Must Have The Following Experience/skills

    • A relevant 3 Yr Degree / First Degree / HND / NVQ 4 / Adv Dip / National Higher Dip / 3 – 4 Yr Trade Cert or Dip /T3 / S4 / ‘NQF’ Level 7
    • Up To 5 Years MINIMUM TOTAL years of RELEVANT experience
    • Proficient in MS Office,
    • SAP, Strato, Qlikview, Success Factors experience beneficial
    • The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
    • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and sound presentation skills
    • The ability to work after hours and / or shifts if necessary
    • Knowledge of all relevant legislation
    • Knowledge of customer service principles and practice
    • Experience in a customer service environment is essential

Financial Management

    • Knowledge of financial principles (e.g. budgets, capital, gross income) and the ability to apply financial principles and to analyse, interpret and report figures correctly

Warehousing

    • Knowledge of warehousing management principles and the ability to manage a warehouse through space utilisation, effective delivery and human resources utilisation within the warehouse

Delivery

    • Bring innovative approach to Delivery and customer service as a value-adding component by driving the effective, efficient flow of goods, services and information from the point of supply to the point of demand

Data Savvy

    • Is able to gather, analyse, interpret and present relevant quantitative and qualitative data to inform critical people strategies and decisions and measure, and benchmark the impact of SO practices against agreed functional metrics and standards

    • Understanding and applying Rules and Regulations, which assist the movement of goods and services across geographical boundaries and commercial entities

Customer Service Levels Management

    • Constantly anticipate, understand and action what customers want from their suppliers and partners

Product Knowledge

    • Knowledge of Company’s products and product categories in order to act as Brand Crafters and to better understand the Company

Capability Build and People Practices

    • Knowledge and skills to attract, develop, care for and retain high calibre individuals, in the correct position. The ability to motivate and use skills in coaching, counselling and mentoring to grow talent and ensure succession planning

Strategic Business Partnering

    • Acts as a strategic business partner by understanding the needs of their key stakeholders against organisational goals, designing and implementing SO solutions which meet these requirements whilst delivering a high degree of perceived satisfaction.
